Who am I?

I am an Assistant Professor in Chemical Engineering at Masdar Institute of Science and Technology. I research how soil microbes affect the global cycling of carbon dioxide. As part of my work, I get to travel to incredible places, work with amazing friends and colleagues, and try to understand nature one experiment at a time.

I am a tinkerer, both in mind and hand – mens et manu -whether it be in the lab, the shop, or the kitchen, I am always trying out new things, mixing it up and seeing what happens.  Lots of times it ends up in quite a mess, but sometimes, magic happens and you sit back, enjoying the fruits of your labor.
